The entertainment industry is an easy place to get scammed for those who do not know what they are doing. The rules that apply to most businesses barely apply to this industry. Finding legitiment opportunities may be challenging.
There are a small number of acting auditions and jobs that are available compared to the very large number of actors out there. With the growing number of people in the entertainment business, it’s not always easy to get noticed.
The client requests a custom software & mobile app platform for connecting casting directors and artists. The solution will streamline the “talent search” process, and provide both artists and casting directors with a way to find gigs, search performers, and expedite call backs and auditions. CASTAR will provide this service for several different types of artists; including, but not limited to, actors, musicians, and models.
While working very closely with the client, we identified the most important specifications
for the target audience — Talent and Executives in the entertainment industry. With some
research and trial/error testing we could start building the app architecture.
The app was designed to be clean and minimal. The accent colors used are bright and
attractive. With the spacious and white backgrounds used in the app, these accent
colors attract the user where attention is needed.
The typeface was chosen to match the clean, minimal look of the app. It had to
be modern, easy to read, and not too playful. Proxima Nova was picked
because it is unique, modern and legible.
The designs throughout the app use a white background with a lot of negative space to create an airy and uncluttered look. Color is used as an accent and/or indication to the user of what is important to view. These techniques improve the user’s experience and helps get them posting/applying to events as quickly as possible.
